ABOUT THIS TOUR
The South Lantau Country Trail ending at Mui Wo is the most commonly walked trail, graded easy to medium, staying largely on well-shaded dirt paths with occasional open sections offering wide coastal views, an old village foot path, before descending toward the coast, near the Mui Wo Ferry Pier. Mui Wo is a sleepy seaside village on Silvermine Bay, Lantau Island’s eastern coast, named after the silver and lead mines once worked along the Silver River. Its highlights include Silvermine Bay Beach, the historic waterfall and cave, and resident water buffalo that wander freely through the village streets and fields. We can stroll around the village for a few minutes after grabbing food at the cooked food centre before catching the ferry back to Central.
