ABOUT THIS TOUR
Lai Chi Wo is a 300-year-old Hakka-walled village where ancient feng shui woodlands, restored farmland, mangroves, and a centuries-old village square reveal a way of life shaped in harmony with nature. We start the tour in Tai Po market, catch a bus or taxi to Wu Kau Tang, and proceed to walk the Lai Chi Wo nature trail. The trail starts with a downhill walk and follows a stream to reach the village. We will take a lunch break near the village temple and walk to Fan Shui Au after a steep climb and descend to another Hakka village, Kuk Po, and then along the Starling Inlet (which is a closed area boundary next to the Chinese border) overlooking the edge of Shenzhen. We will finish the walk at Luk Keng, where we will enjoy the local food at the village shops.
